Paul & Shiela Wellstone Center Auditorium What do solo acoustic songwriters do when they crave the fun of playing with other musicians live, but still want to perform their own originals? They form a collaboration, this one called 3 of Cups, featuring Tracy Jane Comer and Rachel Nelson plus percussionist Michael "Stix" Kiley, plus also special guest Tret Fure for these Minnesota shows (see also Feb. 3 below). As they back each other on their originals tunes, song arrangements can include harmony vocals, several guitar syles, fiddle, cello, piano, hammered dulcimer, mandolin, and harmonica. The Wellstone Center is easily accessed from anywhere in the metro area. Free ramp parking is available adjacent to the building. |

Lightly amped in this comfortable and casual environment. Singer-songwriter-keyboardist Nancy Rost has been called "the love child of Tom Lehrer and Tom Waits" (KnowYourMusic.com). Her distinctive songs combine a jazz-influenced piano style with lyrics that are quirky, witty and Dave Schindele writes and performs music for voice and piano. Its style is contemporary, with elements of jazz, classical, rock and musical theater. Favorite inspirations include singer-songwriters such as Carole King and Burt Bacharach, Broadway composers such as Stephen Sondheim, and Impressionists like Claude Debussy.Dave’s songs explore original musical territory and try to provide a medium for forecasting,

"Art in the Barn" Concert Series Art in the Barn is a series of performances featuring local, national, and international musicians and visual artists of many various media, and kite-flying. The series takes place in an 1870s barn, located on the farm of Bill and Anne Conzemius on Adams Road, south of the beltline off Fish Hatchery Road. DIRECTIONS: From the Madison beltline (Hwy 12/18), take the Fish Hatchery Rd/Cty Hwy D exit and head south. Continue on Fish Hatchery Rd/Cty Hwy D for 5 miles to Adams Rd. Turn right onto Adams Rd. Continue for nearly one mile, the barn is on the left. |
